smbd enabled but not running nor loadedunder ventura

Imac "Retina 5K, 27 inches, 2020" with Ventura 13.7.5

For about a week I have problem with connection via the smb protocol.

After many investigations, I have seen that the daemon is apparently loaded and enabled but not running.

For example when I try to connect from an iPad via Files.app (Fichiers.app in french), I get right away the message operation not completed. Function not present. With an other iMac, I get nothing but "not connected".

With LaunchControl I have seen that smbd is enabled but loaded and not running. I don't see it in the activity monitor. The files com.apple.smb.preferences.plist and com.apple.smbd.plist are present in the folder /System/Library/LaunchDaemons. It does not start after restart of the imac.

In the settings, sharing is on. I see smbd has access to the full drive. FireVault is not active. No firewall either

Any suggestion ?

File sharing stopped working after 13.7.5… - Apple Community offers a couple of suggestions or links to some. One of them works for me for Mac-to-Mac file sharing.

But I have had no luck to connect from iPad or iPhone to the Ventura MacBook yet. When I boot the MacBook from a Sonoma volume or from an external SSD that still has Ventura 13.5.1 installed (and cannot be updated), SMB works just fine.
