Bounce Issues … not the average

M1 Ultra/UAD ApolloX6/X8/TwinX/Ventura 13.7.5/Logic Pro 11.0.1

1) "bounce track in place" does not respect track delay value with external instruments plugin but...bounce regions in place indivdually does ?

I intended to bounce 7 Tracks of my 7 different external hardware synths (set up each with external instrument plugins) in realtime with "bounce track in place" as "bounce regions in place" does not work for multiple external instrument plugins (at least i could not reveal it. PDC/LLC/Multithreading/Buffer settings don't seem to have an effect on it. When doing it indvidually with the "bounce region in place" function, it works perfectly with my track delay values (per track eg each hardware synth) recordings are getting on the grid as near as midi jitter allows. also if i put some heavy delaying plugins on the external intrument plugin channels itself or on auxes/buses or other software instruments (and set the PDC to software and audio instruments or ALL respectively) the recording does only align as intended with bounce regions in place.

2) "bounce track in place" is not "bound" to cycle length but to the project length and the "sources" are always muted after the bounce or can this be changed somehow ?

3) Why are the bip files of software instruments (but NOT with external instruments plugin) placed far too late with heavy latency inducing plugins "bounce regions in place" but totally on the grid with "bounce track in place" ? This is with or without any plugins on aux/buses and PDC to software and audio instruments or ALL respectively

4) Without any plugin effect anywhere in the project: why is my "bounce region in place" file of software instruments always 6 samples too late in the bounced file without any plugin effect and 4 samples late with bounce track in place and hence not on the grid ?

i mean are these problems of my 11.0.1 or are there some settings i might miss? I really hesitate to upgrade from ventura cause plugin's all working fine yet.

Hi there,

Delays can be caused by Audio Drivers. I also have UAD and deal with this regularly. How much free space do you have on your HD?

Have you played with the "Recording Delay" in Settings?

Have you played with Plug-in Compensation? Is it set to "All"?

#2 I do not think you can change this behavior. You only have the option to not mute within the "Bounce Regions in Place" window it seems.

For #4, could you take a screenshot of your Region Inspector open with the software instrument in focus?

I would update to Logic Pro 11.1.2 which does require macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later. All my plug-ins work fine. I always try to stay one version behind. Maybe back-up via Time Machine just in case?

Hi Eddie

Thank you for your time. Tested different scenarios wit or without PDC. Most accurat is Bounce region in Place with PDC set to All.

1) i never touch recording delay in Logic. i tested and checked the reported roundtrip with the ping method of the RTL Utility. Other audio records are spot on

2) ok, that's what i found so far too

3) Are your software instruments BIP's sampleaccurate and on the Grid, i mean the transient of a Kick eg. is on beat at start with zero sample delay as it should with plugins inserted in the channelstrip or not ?

4) Picture with a BIP Region in Place and the delay. Complete simple set up with a Snare

IDK how many Plug ins you have, but i am so what hypochondric once a system is "working"... may be i'll have to
