How am I able to purchase music in Apple Music?

I've just subscribed to Apple Music on my Gmail account the free 30 day trial version and I have set up music in that second email account that I have with Gmail. I currently have a music account and I'm not able to purchase or hear music to sample on my Yahoo! account with Apple. How do I rectify or move the new music account back to my Yahoo account please advise.

To answer the question in the headline ("How am I able to purchase music in Apple Music?")

Apple Music can refer either to

  • The Apple Music streaming subscription service, or
  • An application that lets you play purchased music, access the Apple Music streaming service, and (on a Mac) import music from your own CDs or buy music from the iTunes Store. It doesn't force you to subscribe to the Apple Music service, although the UI is certainly set up to emphasize that service and encourage you to do so.

You don't purchase music from the Apple Music streaming service, per se. You can only play that it on platforms that Apple Music supports. (See: Apple Music - Apple.)

You can purchase music from the iTunes Store.

  • On an iPhone or iPad, you access the iTunes Store via a dedicated app.
  • On a Mac, you access the iTunes Store via an item in the Music window sidebar. This item may be turned off by default (it was on my Mac, making me wonder where the iTunes Store had gone), in which case you can go into Music > Settings… and put a checkmark besides "Show: [X] iTunes Store".

If you have two separate Apple IDs – one using a Gmail e-mail address, another using a Yahoo e-mail one – I don't think there is a way for you to move an Apple Music subscription from one to another. (Especially not a trial subscription, where cancelling that forfeits the remainder of the free trial period.)

You could cancel the free trial in enough time that it doesn't become a paid one, then take out a paid subscription under the other Apple ID.

"If you signed up for a free or discounted trial subscription and you don't want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends."

Note that you would lose "offline listening" copies and any playlists that contained subscription songs.
