Why is my iPhone 16 says coverage expires after 3 weeks and shows old purchase date?

You bought a used phone. It might have been nicely packaged and looked "new"......but it wasn't.

Because the warranty has already expired on your used phone, you will have to pay for any service or repairs that might be needed.

If the store told you that the phone was "new", you may want to pay them a visit and get your money back.

Open Settings App > General > About > Model - does it start with a number as opposed to a letter?

If yes, the phone would have been refurbished, but not by Apple. As such it would have no warranty with Apple.

If they made the default sort order of the forum Oldest you might read them in sequence. But they refuse.

Did you purchase this iPhone brand new in a factory sealed box directly from Apple or an Authorized Apple Retailer?

I doubt if it is even an iphone 16, they would all have at least 5 months service remaining as they were released after September 2024.

Maybe a complete fake with an old serial number.
