Why do my sidebar documents have the same name on macOS Sequoia?

The last few days I have noticed every morning when I boot my Sequoia 16.4 machine that all the docs that I minimized into the sidebar all have the same name. It take opening each one then minimizing them again for them to show they name/title which I have found was easiest to just open all of them then minimize them one at a time works. Since this is my primary working machine, I frequently leave several docs minimized when I shut it down at night so, withj failing memory, I do not have to look them up each time I bring the machine up each morning.

That leaves, is there something that this is connected by may cause problems somewhere down the road?

The dock USED TO BE considered the SIDE BAR and at 83 I am somewhat used to tha designation.

No, the dock has always been the dock. There was never anything else prior to the Dock. The dock didn’t even default to being on the side of the screen. At best it could’ve been referred to as the bottom bar, but it wasn’t.

There was nothing called a sidebar until the actual sidebar appeared in the Finder window.

There are several discussions about that problem and I thought it was fixed with 15.5. (There isn’t a 16.4—maybe in a year)

You may want to try updating to 15.5, which came out a day or two ago.

I usually use the double-click method of minimizing which it waht I started with way back when it was added to the OS and presently the only one I use.
I use the "Window" menu to see what is open in the top app which 90% of the time is Pages and the other 10% is numbers so no need to check them MOST OF THE TIME.
There is also the minimize location at the bottom of the sidebar for Pages that shows all open docs and is my pick of choice when changing to another doc.

This only started recently which I suspect was from an OS UPDATE .

Control Click in Finder side bar —>Remove from sidebar.

I never ever use the minimize button. There are many alternatives...

Command H (Command Tab to see open applications 'Heads Up Display')

Save and quit

Full screen

View open windows and spaces in Mission Control on Mac

What's a 'magic track pad' as this is the first I have hear of this. Is it something like the 'magic mouse' that is so small I HAVE TO GET AND OEM MOUSE because all I want from a mouse is scroll and click and turn off all the other features BUT my hand is so big that thing fits only in my palm with thumb touching the entire side which, is some cases that demand the other buttons, causes supreme problems just trying to move and scroll.

I do keep that 'MICRO MOUSE" just to have some capabilities when the batteries in my Logitech die which isn't often but since I just turn off the micro it maintains a charge for a long time.

this part of the post can be eliminated for all practical purposes.

The “magic trackpad” is the external trackpad that Apple makes. It can be used as an alternative to a mouse and is similar to the trackpads built into all Apple laptops. You can order it separately and you can also order with an iMac, for example, instead of or in addition to the “magic mouse”.

The current version of macOS is 15.5. It could be just a typo, but also the numbers in parentheses do not resemble anything I see in either 15.5 on the Mac,

or in 18.5 on the iPhone.

They both have version strings that are shorter and include at least one letter, and not periods.

Sorry to see that the problem has not been resolved.

I am thinking that the problem is related to how the content on your mac syncs with iCloud.

Alas, I have no suggestions. I hope it gets fixed, probably by Apple (if it is a syncing issue with iCloud, as I think it is, only Apple can fix it).
