Is the App Store still fully functional on MacBook Pro with High Sierra?

Running High Sierra on a 2011 MacBook Pro. Using it to tether a DSLR using Canon Utility, everything works as expected for that task.

I don't normally go online but checked Software Update and found updates. However, the App Store updates page isn't rendering (just blank.) The Home page displays fine. The updates did install.

I'm not too worried, but just curious if the App Store app itself is having problems in old OS versions? I haven't had time for troubleshooting yet.

That is possible, and was an ongoing problem for some people. This Discussion, though lengthy, describes what eventually worked for its OP: How can I restore missing top icons and access purchases in App Store on High Sierra iMac?

However, I can confirm the Mac App Store is still functioning here with High Sierra (and even older) Macs. The usual recommendations apply: no "anti-virus" garbage, VPNs, etc.
