LOGIC PRO: (some) delayed library instruments

So I remember that for some reason someday I had some delay with the logic pro player so I did some tweaks suggested online and I fixed it, but for some reason, I don't know if it's because of that but now these following instruments from the logic pro library play a quarter of one 4/4 beat after where they are supposed to play:

  • All instruments in Drum Kit (not Electronic)
  • All Percussion
  • All Studio Horns
  • All Studio Strings

I seriously have no idea what causes this, and I couldn't find anything online since it's only for a specific thing and not the whole project, I have tried all the latency fixes I could find and they still don't work properly.

I would really appreciate an answer since I've been struggling with this for months and not being able to use them properly. Thanks!

Latency is a general issue of digital processing. You need to understand what is causing latency in general in order to reduce it.

  • The lower the I/O buffer size (audio buffer size), the lower the latency of cost of higher cpu load.
  • The higher the sample rate, the lower the latency of cost of higher cpu load.
  • Every plugin and computation causes latency. Some plugins cause more latency than others. Especially plugins in the field of spectral sound design, analog simulation and pitch can cause high latency.
  • Oversampling introduces Latency.
  • If Plug-in Latency Compensation is activated, which is and should be the default setting, the latency generated by all plug-ins used in the project is summed up.
  • Latency of different sound cards or devices can vary.
  • Sometimes flexed audio tracks can cause latency
  • Using Low Latency Mode while recording is a big help. It's de-activating some plugins but this can cause changes in sound. Don't forget to switch off Low Latency Mode while playback !
  • Freezing tracks with many latency-producing plugins can help to reduce Latency.
  • Avoid changing Recording Delay.

Ok, so this is with one example of an affected instrument (Studio Horns > 6-Piece Section > Funkhouse)

This right here is with the default instrument (Vintage Electric Piano > Classic Electric Piano)

My I/O buffer size is set to 64.

Weird thing: Yes it only happens with MIDI and not audio loops/tracks except when I add the effect "Vocal Transformer" in "Pitch" in the audio FX. For the moment it only happens with this effect.
