How can I view Maps during my outdoor cycling

Why can't apple show a map while cycling like Strava does? They should add a metric screen with a map view while riding so if you want to see the map you can swipe to that screen and possibly add a few smaller metric views above or below the map on the same screen. I've been wanting this for years and thought by now it would be out but come every summer, still no map on my outdoor cycling workout.

I can understand Apple wanting to streamline and/or focus on the experience, but when I need to have both Strava and an Apple workout running to see where I'm at, that is not streamlined.
