This seems to be a bug in the app's handling of currency data over extended timeframes. While there's no official fix from Apple yet, you can try the following steps:
Force Close and Reopen the Stocks App: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or double-click the Home button) to access the app switcher, then swipe up on the Stocks app to close it. Reopen the app to see if the issue persists.
Restart Your iPhone: A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary glitches. Press and hold the side button along with either volume button until the power off slider appears. Slide to power off, wait a few seconds, then turn your iPhone back on.
Check for iOS Updates: Ensure your device is running the latest version of iOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for and install any available updates.
Use Alternative Apps: If the issue continues, consider using other financial apps like Yahoo Finance or XE Currency, which may provide more accurate currency data over various timeframes.
If these steps don't resolve the problem, you might want to report the issue to Apple Support for further assistance.
I see this happening too. It specifically looks like it’s somehow using the reciprocal exchange rate for time periods longer than 1 month. I’ve no idea why.
I’ve also spotted other stocks having bizarre anomalies, like VUAG.L showing extremely high prices for one data point.
my iPhone is fully updated and it’s been restarted multiple times since this bug developed
