Within the last few weeks my played podcasts have stopped deleting. I made sure that the setting was on that automatically deletes episodes after 24 hours.

I can confirm that this bug is resolved with iOS 18.6. My Podcasts now automatically deletes 24 hours after playback.
I have the same issue on my iPhone 16 running 18.5
Same here, a nightmare to manage, Podcast app space keeps growing if we don't delete podcast manually.
Switching to Spotify ...
It is obvious this is a software issue that popped up with a former update and needs to be fixed.
Same here on my iPhone 12 Pro Max running the latest version of iOS.
Any idea when this issue will be fixed?

I’m hoping with the iOS 18.6 release this problem will be resolved - maybe by the end of July.
I thought iOS 18.5.1 would address this, but Apple never released this version. My best guess is (maybe) iOS 18.6 might address this issue, which I think is due out before the end of July.

It appears the most recent iOS update has fixed the issue at long last. My daily podcast I subscribe to maxes out at five per the default setting. Can anyone else confirm?
