Mail app spell checker is disabling send button on iMac after macOS Sequoia update
I have two issues with Mail spell checker.
The first is that it insists on correcting not just the text in the mail but also the quoted text which to me is totally unnecessary and I haven't found a way of stopping it although Outlook with Windows had it as a feature when I used that for work until a couple of years ago. I always check on sending as, to be honest, I don't trust any form of auto-correction - if I check when sending I can see what corrections it's doing. I'm no perfect typist so it's a necessary tool. Having to go through the extra text that's already been read by both sender and recipient is frustrating and slows you down unnecessarily. To stop it I click on the red box in the top corner and the message gets sent.
The second issue is a new one I've only noticed today, having recently uploaded Sequoia 15.4. Now when I click the red box the spell check dialogue box disappears but the message doesn't send, not only that I can't send it then as the send button is greyed out. The only workaround I've found is to manually start the spell check process.
I'd welcome any suggestions to deal with these issues.
