Missing Tagged Local Files in Pages after automatic update to 14.4 on iPad Pro
Technical Summary:
- The affected files were stored locally on the device, not in iCloud.
- After automatic update of Pages to version 14.4, files that were tagged (e.g., with the blue tag) are no longer visible or accessible within the application or iPad (e.g., in the files app).
- These files were neither deleted by the user nor moved manually, which suggests they may still reside on the device’s storage, but the application is currently unable to locate or load them properly.
Incident Description:
On Saturday, after launching the Pages app, the most recently edited tagged document (created a few weeks earlier) opened automatically. A post-update welcome screen appeared, outlining new features (notably a new screen layout view). After dismissing this notification, the content of the previously opened document briefly appeared before the application forcibly closed the file. Subsequently, the file disappeared from the file list and has not reappeared since. In addition, all other tagged files are now missing. Notably, untagged local files remain available and accessible.
