Update AirPod Max (USB C) to 7E99 - Lossless Audio and low latency

Hello, yesterday i updated my iDevices (Mac + iPhone) to the latest software (18.4 and 15.4). I bought new AirPod Max and hoped that I can hear lossless audio via USB C like it was announced a few days ago. On the Firmware page Apple says the new Firmware is 7E99. I am on 7A219.

I charged my iPhone and the AirPod Max. Let them on charge. Reseted them. Followed the instructions for updating the airpods on the Apple support website several times. Nothing helped - still not lossless via USB C. No update.

Has anybody the same issues?

Looks like it’s been delayed. Firmware page has been updated to “Coming soon”. Hopefully it’s just a short delay and comes out in the coming days. See here*

Happening to me too. I have been trying repeatedly today with my Airpods Max model A3184, also stuck on 7A291. I followed all the steps here and did both a soft and factory reset. No success. Both my Mac and iPhone have the required software (15.4 and 18.4 respectively). Didn’t work with either all day.
