I’d like to get rid of the Software Update Available notification and delete the proposed update. I fin it so annoying. How can I do that?

Thank you so much!

The update is finished, but the notification persists. It says Up to date, with the most current level: 18.4. Is there a bug in the update?

I would suggest performing a Forced Restart after the update. That is what I know many users do after an update to make sure things are running correctly. You may also see some abnormal things and behaviors after an update, but it shouldn’t last long.

  • Press and quickly release the Volume Up Button
  • Press and quickly release the Volume Down Button
  • Press and hold the Side Button until you see the Apple Logo (Keep holding past the Power Off Slider)

The only way you can get rid of the iOS software update notification and update prompt is to update your iPhone. I would also highly suggest you update and keep your iPhone on the latest iOS software because it provides the latest features, bug fixes, performance enhancements. And most importantly, that iOS 18.4 update provides a whopping 60 security vulnerability patches.
