why is my website history Automatically deleting?

my web history is only saving for the last month yet I haven’t set the device to auto delete data and can’t find any options on my iPhone 15 to stop this happening. Can anyone please advise on where I should be looking or is this common on iPhones as this is my first time using iPhones. Thank you
