What causes the -54 error when importing CDs on LG DVD station?

I try to import a music cd and get a -54 error what can be the reason. I am using an LG external DVD station.

While trying to import a CD, I receive "An unknown error occurred (-54)" While trying to import a CD into Apple Music on macOS Sonoma, I get the message: "Error occurred while converting the file "(track title)". I'm using an external Samsung CD player which is connected to my MacBook Pro. I have previously been able to both rip and burn CDs.

CD on a Superdrive generates Error 54 after upgrade to Sonoma 14.3.1 when trying to play using Music App. I upgraded to Sonoma yesterday. I purchased 6 new Audio CD’s today and the system sees the CD’s can list the content, prompts me to load the CD into the library but for all CDs returns the Error 54. I have tried editing the permissions of the files, I have successfully written a playlist to a CD-RW but I cannot get any of the CDs (including the burnt ones)to play using Music.
