mac mini remember window display and position during power off

Mic mini with three displays. At power off, checkbox "Open windows again at restart" checked. But windows will reopen on different displays than during power off. How can I resolve this?

External displays windows get reset to Built-in Display after Lock Screen or Sleep. I'm on a new Mac Pro M2 Max 14" (2023). I have two external displays that are properly recognized by the Mac (a Dell and Asus). Both are connected via USB-C to HDMI cables from the Mac. I arrange my windows across the the two displays. But when I select Lock Screen or select Sleep, and wait a few minutes the windows on the external displays are relocated to the Built-in Display when I sign back in. Note: If I sign-in right after selecting Sleep or Lock Screen the issue doesn't take place. But if I wait a few minutes then they are repositioned/relocated. Note: The external displays show the background or screen saver properly when locked. This is obviously very problematic as it takes me a few minutes several times a day to reset the windows (I also use multiple virtual desktops aka Spaces). Display arrangement changes after sleep or reboot I have a Mac Mini M1 2020 with two HP 24mh FHD displays, attached to the HDMI and USB-3 ports. It is running Ventura 13.0, but the issue happened in previous OS versions. When the computer returns from sleep, or in reboot, any of the two displays may become the main one. They appear as HP 24mh (1) and (2) in System Preferences\Displays, but the names change when this happens. I have tried PRAM and SMC reset, but no joy. The only solution for this is to manually change the display arrangement. Does anyone know of a less bothersome way around this?

This has been a problem with multiple displays in at least the last three macOS versions.

To prevent from having to rearrange your windows after a Restart or Startup.

Leave the Mac Mini On and allow the display(s) to turn Off on the timer.

Then only Shut Down the Mac when your away for a day or more.

It might get fixed using Feedback, but don't hold your breath.
