Why does my new iPhone 16 Pro Max stopped charging after 3 months?

Bought a brand new iPhone 16 pro max at the start of January and it stopped charging middle of March, when I took it to Apple they informed me there was very bad corrosion within the port, this phone has never been near any sort of moisture and no way this could have happened while I have had it this short time. Apple have told me it is not under warranty (3 months old 🤷‍♂️) and would cost approximately £500 to fix!! I have been an apple customer since the first iPhone was released and also have an iPad and Apple Watch and this experience has just really opened my eyes to the product- will never have another apple device near me !!!!!

Search for accessories that have completed MFi certification. Once an accessory has completed MFi certification requirements and is reported to Apple as sold/distributed, it will be searchable in our public database of authorized Lightning, headset, charging, iAP-enabled, and Find My network-enabled accessories.

Learn how to identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning-based accessories.
