Corrosion in charging port

My iPhone 15pro is 10 weeks old and stopped charging suddenly. Took it to the iPhone store where they diagnosed corrosion on the pins in the charging port. It has never been exposed to water or moisture. Has anyone ever heard of this? I’m also wondering how long from the time of exposure of the charging port to moisture would it take for the corrosion to happen. I am 100% certain the phone was not exposed in the 10 weeks I’ve owned it so I’m wondering if it could be a factory defect or possibly exposed at the point of purchase location.

Corrosion doesn't happen by magic. You may not have been aware of the exposure, but it happened. It's possible that you were somewhere where there was enough condensation to cause corrosion.

don't know what to do …

Pay for the repair.

I am facing the same problem with my iPhone 15. It has not been more than 6 months from the day I purchased the phone. And now the phone stopped working 2 days back while I was using it (internet browsing)

There has not been any liquid submerge or contact. Still, the Reseller's service center and the Apple service center have refrained from performing a proper diagnosis and said that as the charging port shows some corrosion this is considered liquid and physical damage, hence not covered under the Apple 1 year warranty.

Any suggestions on how I should request Apple to fix this for me ?

I’m apple customer over 13 years … recently bought iPhone 15 pro max ( 6 weeks old) … i have the same issue … the mobile stop charging because 2 pins corroded .. 100% not exposed to water or any liquid …. Maybe C-type charger problem because i didn’t face any problem while using the old lighting apple-charger…. Apple refused to repair under warranty … case no. 102377883900 - case still open and i’m very disappointed and don't know what to do …
