How can I remove an unusable phone number from a REGIFTED iPhone?

I’ve never had a cell phone before. After using this regifted iPhone for a month, I discovered FaceTime won’t work on wifi unless I can verify it with somebody’s old cell number. I only have a landline. Eventually, I will get a phone plan for travel. Cannot find how to remove this unusable number.

On my iphone> Settings> click on my name>click on "Name,Phone Numbers, Email" > Under Reachable at: it shows an old number for imessages and facetime. Iphone saying number not associated with iPhone I have recently changed provider and ported my number from EE to o2. But i'm now getting a daily countdown notification that my number is not associated with the phone. My number hasn't changed so i get that its seeing the number on the new sim but the old number has been ported. How do i get my iPhone to recognise this please? I've done the on/off, uncheck/check iPhone messages and FaceTime, remove sim and even delete number and read to id but None of these is working and the countdown is continuing.

facetime pohone number setting just moved network and took old number with me but now getting message for facetime only that my old number is expiring for facetime and new sim number in place on facetime setting. how dio i change thsi to my old number which is being used on phone

Fixed FaceTime, but still need to change the unusable phone number.
