Garageband input level at 0

When plugging via usb my audio / digital interface, the track record level defaults to 0 and that and the auto control level is greyed out… if I unplug the devices the levels return and work fine… what am i doing wrong? Thanks

Garageband known issues with Ventura Hi. Since installing Ventura, I seem to be having trouble with Garageband. 1. Levels on all tracks on 2 particular projects show as maxed yet the sliders are set to the correct levels, this applies to ALL tracks. 2. a HUGE distorted sound appears at a few bars in which stops as soon as I stop the track. 3 One minute I have volume output from GB, the next, I don't! System sounds etc and other apps appear to be fine for volume. Is GB corrupt or is it just the 2 Projects? Is this just a coincidence with Ventura or are there known issues with GB? Many thanks

Garageband 'enable audio units' greyed out! I'm running Garageband 10.4.8 and under AUDIO/MIDI my 3rd party 'enable audio units' is greyed out. Anyone experienced this before or can offer a fix? Thanks.
