iOS: App updates reappear multiple times

This issue persists and has been around since (at least) 2020 (e.g. App Store Updates keep reappearing a few … - Apple Community).

I go to the app store, go to the available updates, click on update, the app updates and moves down.

A few hours later, the same app is in the list again with the EXACT SAME update (no, it is not a new update, it is the same).

This happens constantly.

A "community specialist", whose helpfulness can only be topped by an A.I. customer support call, suggested in the thread linked above to update the iPhone to the latest update and to set the app updates to automatic.

As if that was the question.

I like to have the option to manually update an app, when and if I choose to. Or is that a bug? Then remove that option, Apple.

And my phone (iPhone 13 "mini") is on the latest iOS—not that that ever fixed anything.
