Why does Safari open Google Maps instead of Apple Maps?

whenever I go onto Safari it like opens to Google so like when I try to type in a destination, it will bring up Google maps instead of my Apple Maps and it is the most frustrating thing ever because I don’t have Google maps on my phone so then I have to go retype it in on Apple Maps and whatever so is there anyway I can get it back to normal?

Safari on iOS does not have a concept of 'home page' - when you open the app it will always take you to the last page you were looking at.

There is a search engine option that's used for searches, so maybe that's what you mean - In Settings -> Apps -> Safari there's an option to set your search engine of choice. I'm not sure that's the issue, though.

If you're looking for a location, it might just be easier to open Maps.app and enter your destination there. Guaranteed to not use Google Maps.
