How to resolve Apple intelligence error with mismatched language settings on MacBook Pro M4?

I just bought this MacBook Pro 16" with M4 cpu and realized apple intelligence is not working. Tried to enable it in the settings and was surprised by this error message:

Apple intelligence requires that Mac and Siri are set to the same language.
Currently your Mac is set to English (US) and Siri is set to English (United States).



And, well as you can guess, there is no option for English (United States) in the system languages, nor is an option for English (US)in Siri languages!

Even when I try to use some new apps like image playground, this is what I get:


Anyone else had same issue or know how to fix this?

Running Mac OS Version 15.3.2 (24D81) (no updates are available at the moment)
