Bluetooth problems iPhone 13 and iOS 18.3.2

Strange one this... my iPhone 13 connects fine to my Airpord Max and Shokz headphones but all of a sudden (since the iOS update?) it won't connect properly to my Marshall Kilburn II speaker (although my iMac connects to the Marshall fine...).

I've switched the phone on and off, 'forgotten' the Marshall Bluetooth connection and re-connected, and I've done a factory reset of the Marshall by holding the Bluetooth button down for 15s - all to no avail.

The phone display shows that its bluetooth has connected to the Marshall and it continues to play when 'connected' - it's just that no sound at all comes out of the Marshall no matter what the vol is on the phone or speaker. Any ideas?

If you're experiencing Bluetooth problems with your iPhone 13 after updating to iOS 18.3.2, try these troubleshooting steps: ensure your Bluetooth accessory and iPhone are close, turn Bluetooth off and on, check your accessory's power and connection, and consider deleting and re-pairing devices.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

  • Basic Checks:
    • Proximity: Make sure your iPhone 13 and the Bluetooth accessory (e.g., headphones, car stereo) are within a reasonable distance of each other.
    • Power and Connection: Ensure your Bluetooth accessory is powered on, fully charged (if applicable), and properly connected.
    • Bluetooth Status: Confirm that Bluetooth is turned on in your iPhone's settings.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Turn Bluetooth Off and On: Toggle Bluetooth off and then back on in your iPhone's settings.
    • Forget the Device: If you're having trouble connecting to a specific device, try forgetting it from your iPhone's Bluetooth list and then re-pairing.
    • Restart Your iPhone: A simple restart can resolve minor software glitches that might be affecting Bluetooth.
    • Check for Software Updates: Make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS 18.3.2.
    • Check for Accessory Issues: If the problem persists, it could be an issue with the Bluetooth accessory itself. Try connecting it to another device to see if the problem is with the accessory or your iPhone.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting (If necessary):
    • Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset your Wi-Fi, cellular, and Bluetooth settings.
    • Factory Reset (Last Resort): As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset of your iPhone. However, be aware that this will erase all data on your device, so make sure you have a backup first.
