How can I fix intermittent bluetooth connection issues on iPhone 13?

I have an iPhone 13, several nights ago the phone apparently was push-updated to 18.3.1. Since then, I’ve realized that the Bluetooth operation seems to have become intermittent. Both of our vehicles have Bluetooth connectivity, but I’ve noticed that I’m either seeing a “no Bluetooth phones found” message when starting up the vehicle, or several times, the same message appearing after a short (10-15 minutes maybe) driving. Either vehicle. Then yesterday I noted that my phone rang for an incoming call, but the Bluetooth connection to my hearing aids had apparently dropped. I didn’t “connect the dots” at first, but then realized that this all started after the 18.3.1 update. Anyone else experiencing similar?

My understanding was also that Auto updates had to be allowed in the settings. I have auto updates turned OFF, but (I forget exactly which night, but recent) I woke up in the morning, looked at my phone, and there was a banner that the phone had been updated to 18.3.1. I have no idea how or why this occurred. Two days later, same thing with my iPad.
