New MacBook Air is not showing option to allow iphone notifications

Nearly same experience for me. It is very unfortunate that I purchased new MacBook Air for the new features. I feel discouraged with Apple and Apple products at this time.

+1 in terms of having used Migration Assistant and in terms of having the exact same issue

Has anyone tried turning off the iPhone notifications feature before running Migration Assistant? And then turning it on on the target Mac after migration assistant is done?

New MacBook Air M4 15 purchased few weeks ago. I have connected my iPhone mirroring, but I do not have the setting (in System Settings | Notifications) that says Allow notifications from iPhone. It’s just “missing”. iPhone mirroring works fine. I have followed all the Apple setup instructions and all the articles I can find in the Apple Community.

I also applied updates 15.4 and 18.4. I still do not have the Allow notifications from iPhone setting although I have iPhone mirroring configured. @shawn5574 please let us know what support says. I too contacted support and their solution was create a new user. That is not an option.

Same. I transferred mine from a MacBook Air M3 to MacBook Air M4 using a thunderbolt cable instead of setting up new Mac also. Too much data, also wasn’t interested in reinstall apps and copying data. Didn’t want to take the time. Notifications worked on the MacBook Air M3 and the toggle for Allow notifications from iPhone was also on MacBook Air M3.

I also upgraded my computer recently and did a transfer using the Migration Assistant. It seems like something there caused this bug. Creating a new user account seems to have fixed the issue, but I don't really have the time to migrate my user accounts. Reported a bug and hoping Apple provides a fix since migration of user accounts is not trivial. Upgrading to 15.4.1 does not fix the issue.

migrated via thunderbolt from my m1 air to my new m4 pro. It must be a bug or something because I re-installed sequoia and that didn't fix it nor re-signing into my iCloud account.

I have the same exact issue. I’ve been working on this issue with them since mid/late March. At the time no one reported it. We did everything that they thought it would fix the issue (log out, log in, wipe out Mac, reinstall macOS from scratch, create new user accounts, and so on) at least twice a week for a couple of weeks in a row and nothing fixed it. They took logs of it at least two times and the conclusion was “we don’t know what the issue is. So far there’s no fix. We don’t know when a fix will come. Senior engineering is working on it but there is no ETA for the fix.” Last I’ve heard from them was April 11th.

I know it’s not the end of the world but it’s so frustrating when you buy the latest products and they’re not working as advertised.

Haven't seen any updates on this recently. Having the exact same issue (notifications not working on a recently migrated m4 mpb). This is very annoying. Apple must be aware of this by now and, given the crowd here all saying they're having similar issues, this isn't a 'one off' problem. So...what's going on??

Bought 2 MacBook M4 Airs, used migration assistant on both to synch all settings with my M1 Mac, issue exists on one of the M4s even after update to Sequoia 15.5 today. I am not willing to do over as it is time consuming.

Same. I bought an external drive and copied everything off. Back to factory defaults. Working now to install all my apps and set the MacBook settings to my liking. Not going to lie, very very time consuming. But I desperately wanted my iPhone notifications.

I finally bit the bullet and reset my MacBook and copied all of my files to an external drive (not back up). I set the Mac up as a new Mac, logged into iCloud and what not, and tried iPhone mirroring notifications, and still nothing. What did I do wrong? I did not restore from back up…

Wondering if anyone has had success with either a carbon copy cloner or super duper backup used as the source for migration assistant? Those backups usually don't carry account type stuff so in theory shouldn't cause the iPhone notification issue

For those of you who've used CCC or Super Duper with Migration Assistant are you having the same issue with iPhone notifications not showing up on the Mac?

The reason for this specific question is that, at least for CCC (I don't know much about Super Duper), account data / settings are not cloned and, so, migration assistant is just pulling data off the CCC backup when MA runs

As such, if only data (and not account info, settings, etc) is being migrated, are people still having this notification problem or not
