How to connect ASUS ZenDrive V1M to MacBook Air M1 via USB Type-C?

Hi

I am trying to connect an ASUS ZenDrive V1M to my MacBook Air Air (Chip M1) - macOS Sonoma 14.6.1

without success. While plugging the external DVD Drive & Writer by USB Type-C, it does ask me if I wish to allow the external Drive - then by clicking yes nothing happens and the external DVD player is not visible.

Any idea on how compatible this player will be as Asus advertise a Mac OS compatibility but their website is not that helpful.
