How do I fix Safari and Google search reverting to previous results on iPhone?

I have this problem where when I search on safari it will ignore my search completely and just go back to my previous search

Ex: if I search dogs earlier in the day then open my phone and search cats it does a loading screen for a second then just go back to dogs

this is extremely frustrating because If I’m searching something long it will completely ignore my search so I have to retype it again.

apple support didnt help with the problem either
