After an OS update on my macbook pro, my Accent Menu is not working. When I press and hold a key that allows for accents (such as 'a') the letter just repeats.

I solved it. just to let you know how to do it.
press the option key and the e at the same time, the accent will appear, and then press the letter key you want to put the accent on.
this only will put the accent for Spanish language for the French language I guess will be different.
Even though I figure it out I do not like this way. It was better the other accent menu.
Option-e for acute accent; option-i for circumflex; option-n for tilde, option-` for grave, option-c for ç
But you can restore the menu by doing this:
1) Paste the following command in Terminal:
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true
2) Restart your mac
