How do I fix Bluetooth audio glitches and stuttering on iPhone 14 Pro while streaming to my car?

Ever since one of the minor iOS updates (I believe 3 back), I have been having my audio stutter (like every millisecond) when streaming to my car’s Bluetooth. Spotify, YouTube, and even Apple Music. Sometimes the sound just cuts out for 5-10 seconds. Disconnecting BT only helps for a bit. Even rebooting my phone is temporary. This never used to happen last year. I thought 18.3.2 would help but it actually feels like it’s worse. Frustrating and it renders my iPhone 14 Pro useless in my car.

I’m having the same exact issue, audio stutters every 5 seconds. I tried resetting Bluetooth both on my car and iPhone 13, issue still persists.

@sogs, that is really interesting. Just the other day I noticed that when cars were passing me, it seemed to surface the issue. Like my Bluetooth would pick up another vehicle’s Bluetooth. But maybe you’re on to something. I’ll test this and report back. Thank you 🙏🏼.

Wow! I THOUGHT THE EXACT SAME THING. Whenever I’m at a stop and bunch of cars around, it stutters a lot. Coincidence?! Another interesting thing I’ve seen is when I use Spotify, whenever the app is not actively on the screen and is running in the background, audio is fine, but when it is on the screen, music stutters.

I’m assuming you have an Apple Watch? I have had this issue since my iPhone 10, i recently forgot my watch at home and my music never missed a beat, but happened again so with some trial and error I turned off my watch and it played fine, i turned on my watch and it would play and stop and skip ect, it seems my issue is with the watch pulling to much data over Bluetooth causing it to lag on my car radio maybe????, i have even closed all open apps on both my 16pro and Apple Watch, but it only seems to be good when my watch is not connected to my phone try it and see, let me know if it is the same for you,

@StriveSamurai hmm. I’ve never paid attention to whether Spotify—the main app that causes me grief with this Bluetooth issue—behaves differently when in the background. Another good thing to test. 🙏🏼

I can confirm it’s not interference from my Apple Watch or Spotify being in the background. It’s most definitely interference from cars passing me. As in going in the same direction on multiple lane roads. Especially highways. 100%. I hope Apple engineers are reading.
