That’s a deceptively complex, subtle, and difficult question. And a question sometimes used as a “gotcha”, too.

Are you of interest to any entities with immense wealth and access to immensely expensive exploit tooling?

Or are you trying to keep somebody that previously had access to your gear out of your gear?

The vast majority of us are not targeted by mercenary and espionage tooling, and haven’t allowed others direct access, so there aren’t any unauthorized connections, and what sharing was established was established by you, or someone you allowed or authorized access into your iPhone.

If you are a target for exploit tooling, that tooling usually goes to some effort to avoid detection.

For a more mundane security review useful for most of us, and addressing the more mundane exposures and risks most of us can encounter, start with the following guide, and including running Safety Check:

So… why are you asking this question? What is happening here that has you concerned?

Far more likely, and far more mundane, your iPhone display or touch screen, or potentially your iPhone battery, is probably failing. Contact Apple for hardware service. Ghost touches and missed touches and the rest are all common symptoms of hardware-related issues.
