The operation can’t be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -43).

I saved a document, then shut down my computer. When I turned it back on and tried to open the document I got the message "The operation can’t be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -43)." I'm running Sonoma 14.6.0 on a 2021 MacBook Pro.

Can anyone help guide me in finding out what this means and how to resolve it so I retrieve my document?

I'd be truly grateful!

Quote from a very reliable contributor @MrHoffman

" Mac error -43 can mean an access conflict for a file, a file permission error, the filename is incorrect or missing or faulty, or there's some other software or hardware corruption or damage. Which probably won't help you.

Error -43 during an install usually means you will want to review the installation documentation for prerequisites or requirements (such as a newer version of macOS, or some other app or package), and to then contact the app developer for assistance. " End quote

In the context of your situation.

Is this issue possible related to a recently installed Third Party Application ?
