Trying to delete photos in messages

I select person and info, select the photos and then try to delete photos but after I re-open the message they won’t delete. This is on several messages. I then tried deleting from the message in settings but they are still there.

The attachments for Messages are located in the Users/Home/Library/Messages/Attachments folder. You can find the name of a photo in a recent text, locate it in the Attachments folder and remove it. Reboot and check the text to see if the photo remains or not. If not you can then delete all items in the Attachments folder or go thru them one by one and delete.

OT-- I found this interesting, and I played with it awhile. Then I noticed that Weedy1 is talking about a phone.

I've not deleted pictures from Messages on a phone! It looks like you long press on the image to get a menu, and you pick More. It looks like it worked for me.

Have you tried a forced restart?

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

This is different from a simple Power Off.
