Unsupported Browser on Gmail

Gmail is all of a sudden telling me that my browser is no longer supported.

It was supported before...

What the heck?

I love Safari!

Does this mean that I can't use it anymore?

Or do I have to change to Chrome, Firefox, etc.

I don't want to!

I started having the same issue beginning of March 2025.

I only use Safari.

Does anyone know what’s going on and how to fix it?

Try turning off all extensions and see if you still get the error. See the following from https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6557

"This browser is not supported."

If you use a browser that works with Gmail and get this error message, an extension might be causing the problem. Try turning off your browser extensions.

If that doesn't help, the error may be due to the age of your macOS version (and the Safari in that version). The above Google support site however doesn't mention what older versions they may not support.

A few questions for your question.

-How old is your computer? (Found by opening up your computer, going into the top left corner, and clicking on the  Icon > "About This Mac", should include "Chip", "Memory", "Serial Number" [Don't share your serial Number], and "macOS")

-Does gmail work on other devices?

-Does gmail work on another browser?

-What version of safari are you on? (Found by opening safari, entering the task bar and going into Safari > About Safari, should return with version xx.x.x[Replace xx.x.x with your version number])

Once you answer these questions, I can assist further.
