HomePod 2nd Gen Detected but No Sound – Setup Fails Due to Missing Audio Cue

Hi everyone,

I have a HomePod 2nd generation that suddenly stopped producing sound. Until recently, it was paired in stereo with another HomePod and used as an audio output for my Apple TV.

🔍 Issue Details:

  • The HomePod still appears in the Home app and seems to be connected.
  • However, it does not produce any sound at all—no music, no Siri responses, no system sounds.
  • When trying to reset and set it up again, it doesn’t play the audio cue required for the iPhone to complete the pairing process.

🛠 Troubleshooting Steps Tried (No Success):

✔ Restarted the HomePod

✔ Unpaired it from the stereo setup

✔ Reset via the Home app

✔ Factory reset using the manual method (unplugging and holding the top)

✔ Checked Wi-Fi and network settings

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Is there a known fix, or is this a hardware failure?

Thanks in advance for your help!
