HomePod Mini not responding to touch after updating to 18.2

As the titles suggests, my HomePod Mini not responding to touch after updating to 18.2. Also, it starts playing randomly music or responding to non-existent requests. I have reset it, removed it from my Home, factory reset, re-added it to my Home, updated iPad, Mac and iPhone to latest software, but it’s still doing the stuff mentioned above. I’m able to airplay or control it from my phone or mac and also it responds to my real requests.

First make sure it’s set to respond to touch. See: Use Touch Accommodations on HomePod and HomePod mini - Apple Support

A hard Reset would be the best way to reset it. The manual method requires touch to be working. As follows:

  1. Unplug HomePod or unplug the power adapter for HomePod mini, wait 10 seconds, then plug HomePod back in.
  2. Wait 10 seconds, then touch and hold your finger to the top of HomePod.
  3. The white spinning light will turn red. Keep your finger down.
  4. Siri will say that your HomePod is about to reset. When you hear three beeps, you can lift your finger.

After you reset HomePod, you can set up HomePod again.

Otherwise try to Restore HomePod mini with a Mac or PC

If none of the above works you might need to take it Apple to diagnose, repair or replace, depending on on its warranty.

Also try gently cleaning the top display. Spray a bit of windex on a soft cloth and wipe the top.
