Had iTunes for years but it would not open so i deleted it and tried to reintall but get error msg The file <itunes Library itl" cannot be read because it was createdby a newer version of i Tunes.No idea what ver of iTunes was used since it's been deleted, What's next?

See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community. You may need to use the shift-start-iTunes method to explicitly choose the .itl file that is opened. This error message may sometimes present even when you are running the current version.

You can try downloading the latest version of iTunes directly from Apple or using the Microsoft Store.
