How to convert a mono audio file to stereo in Logic Pro on iPad?

Hi all,

I have an audio file that when imported into Logic ipad it clearly shows as a mono file.

Historically I stumbled on a way to ‘change’ the file so it becomes stereo (ie the waveform shows left and right info) But I just can’t recall how I did it…

any help would be greatly appreciated..

Hi,

First, you might want to try extending the track height vertically as sometimes this can help you visually see the track with stereo info.

Second, to make this Mono appear as a stereo one, you will have to use some kind of doubling effect.

Have you tried "Stereo Spread"?

Remember that a track will can still be Mono even if it appears to be in Stereo if it has the exact same information on the right and left channel? To confirm this, you can use the Multimeter's Goniometer feature.

Hi, thanks for this but doubling is not what I did previously. The conversion ‘trick’ I stumbled on ‘could’ have been in Logic Pro Mac but I recall it having something to do with L/R routing somewhere..

I can tell it’s a mono file as it only plays through one side of my headphones..

u must be looking way to deep as where logic is concerned I’m a VERY basic user…
