I am on Sonoma 14.4.1. The Desktop keeps disappearing from my Finder window in my MacBook Pro - how do I get it back?

Thanks for the reply! I don't see the option for that when I search "sidebar" in system settings. I only get the standard appearance options.
Open Finder, settings, sidebar and be sure desktop is marked. If it keeps disappearing after a reboot then force quit Finder and it should come back.
How do I get the desktop back in Finder on my MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4.1?
