Why won’t Siri play my chosen radio station on HomePod Mini?

My wife and I listen to a UK radio station called Boom Radio on our Homepod Mini. When my wife says: Hey Siri play Boom Radio, then Boom Radio plays.

When I use precisely the same phrase Siri says: OK, You’ll need to continue on a companion device.

This makes no sense and is rather irritating. Anyone got any ideas?

That is weird. Have you tried to restart the HomePod to see if the issues persist?

Go to the Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap HomePod, then tap .
Do one of the following: For a single HomePod: Tap Reset HomePod, then tap Restart HomePod. For a stereo pair: Tap Restart HomePod.

Thanks for responding. Just tried that and it’s still doing the same thing.

I can only assume it prefers my wife to me!
