How to prevent multiple copies of pasted audio in Logic for iPad?

Hi, I have an infuriating issue when pasting audio into logic for iPad it applies multiple ‘copies’ of the pasted audio after the initial one.

im convinced it’s a setting I need to adjust but don’t know where it resides..

help please…
