New Apple Studio Display has audio output but no video

I purchased an apple studio monitor and it does not work. It is brand new. Plays the audio but not the visual. I called IT they said update my computer. I did that and it didn't work. I called back and they said it can be serviced or returned. I literally bought it hours ago. I have tried unplugging, different cords, etc. Anyone else or any other tips?
