Is there a photostick or thumb drive that works with Iphone 16 Pro Max?

I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and need to offload a lot of pictures from my phone and iCloud on to a photo stick or a thumb/flash drive (I really don’t want to incur additional cost to buy more iCloud space). Will the Omni Photo Stick or the SanDisk Ixpand thumb drive work on my I16 Pro Max phone ?

Designating these as "Downloaded":

Are these photos actually downloaded? Are these photos stored in iCloud as well? If there are in iCloud,. they will stay there, as your iPhone is a client of the photo cloud server. So, as long as they are uploaded to iCloud, then you can delete them from your iPhone safely. If there is no down arrow on a photo's icon, then that means they are locally stored on your iPhone.

Sync Photos and Contacts Through iCloud:

Enable Photos in iCloud on different device devices. All will be accessible on the other device. Then, download them to your Mac, next trashing them from iCloud Photos.

I. Oe the iPhone::

On another device associated to the same Apple ID, perform the following.

I. On an iPhone:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Your Name (Top Item)
  3. Tap: iCloud
  4. Tap: Photos so that is is green
  5. Enable: iCloud Photos

II. On the Mac:

Access from iCloud, Manually:

  1. Go To: Settings
  2. Click: iCloud
  3. Click: Show All
  4. Click: Photos so that is is green

Thanks, but too many pictures is what is taking up most of the cloud space on my phone …nothing else. I just need to know if a thumb drive or the Omni photo stick will work with the newest iPhone 16 so that I can off load the pictures but still keep them accessible. I’ve seen some comments form users that said they had issues ?

Yes, you can use a thumb drive with your iPhone.

Specifically, is the Omni PhotoStick compatible with i16 Pro Max? Is the SanDisk ixpand Luxe USB-C flash drive compatible? (Support Tech’s from both devices say they are compatible… BUT comments from users with an i15 Pro phone have indicated that they were unable to get their photos to download to either of these devices. In a nutshell, my cloud storage space is almost full, and rather that buy more cloud space, I want to download my ‘cloud’ pictures to an external device and then delete the photos from the cloud to free up cloud space.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't know any more than what the manufacturer says on their website. I would recommend that you buy from somewhere with a return policy and test it out yourself.

For the record, buying more iCloud space doesn't free up space on your phone. You can also transfer pictures to your computer.

my issue is NOT hanging enough space on my phone…I have plenty of space on it. The issue was/is having very limited iCloud space(only 5GB…have used 4.8GB)and the majority of the iCloud space being taken up by pictures. Once the iCloud space is ‘full’, I’m no longer able to ‘back-up’ anything UNLESS I purchase more cloud space OR I free up space by offloading current data (pictures, files, apps, etc). 🤦🏼‍♀️
