Unable to open Apple Book on iPad due to incorrect format

A book in my iPad library shared through a family account will not open. The error message says: Cannot Open “Rick Steves Scandinavia” It is formatted incorrectly, or is not in a format that Apple Books can open. — However, this same book opens with no problem on the family organizer’s iPad. Both iPads are running the latest iPadOS 18.3.1

Unable to open book on Apple Books app in my iPad. For the last month, I have intermittently not been able to open books in my library. Now I can’t at all. Most of the books no longer display their covers, now simply a solid cover with the book title. I have updated to IOS 18.3.1. I have heard that the latest few updates are the cause of the problem.
