Apple Watch Series 10 will not download latest update

My watch starts the process of updating but gets stuck on 'verifying'. I always have the watch plugged in during the process. How can I complete the latest update on my watch?

It sounds like you're having trouble with your watch getting stuck on 'verifying' during an update. This is a fairly common issue that can happen for several reasons. Here are some steps you can try:

  1. Make sure your watch has sufficient battery (at least 50%) and stays on the charger throughout the update process.
  2. Check that both your watch and the paired phone have strong internet connections. Try switching from Wi-Fi to cellular or vice versa.
  3. Restart both your watch and phone:
    • For the watch: press and hold the side button until you see the power options, then slide to power off. Turn it back on after a minute.
    • For your phone: turn it off and back on according to your phone model's instructions.
  1. If the issue persists, try forcing the watch to restart (this won't delete your data):
    • Press and hold both the side button and digital crown simultaneously for about 10-15 seconds until you see the logo appear.
  1. As a last resort, you might need to unpair and repair your watch:
    • Back up your watch data first through the companion app on your phone
    • Unpair your watch (this creates another backup)
    • Pair it again and restore from backup
    • Try the update again

If none of these solutions work, you might want to contact the manufacturer's support for more specific troubleshooting based on your watch model.
