Email Message Preview Window: Bottom Handle Stuck at the Bottom

Well, I've done this before and remedied it by accident. The issue is that I used the bottom t-handle to expose more of the list of emails and... the preview of the last selected email disappeared with said handle now stuck at the bottom and previews cannot be seen. Period.

I'm using Mojave 10.14.6 because it works for me.

Here's a screen grab of the bottom of the window. When I hover, click and hold the dot at the bottom until t-handle appears, it will not budge not matter what I do. No resizing the window drastically (as mentioned in other posts)... nothing.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Position your cursor over that dot so the cursor changes to an up-arrow indicator. For what it's worth I think "t-handle" is a perfect name for something Apple did not name.

Drag it up, way up, much more than you have been doing. Keep dragging. There will be no visual confirmation of that action until you drag it more than halfway to the opposite edge of the window, or full screen if you are not using windowed mode. When you drag it a sufficient distance the message viewer pane will reappear.

Thanks very much, John. Disregard my "Not Helpful" initial response. Your answer was PERFECT and it worked the first time outta' the box. I wonder how the layperson is supposed to figure that out. Heck it was hard enough for me to come up with a description of what wasn't work for me. :)

I really, really appreciate you taking the time to post your answer.
