Why can't I use FaceTime effects or switch to the back camera?

face time doesn’t let me use effects, switch to the back camera, it doesn’t even show the icon. is there a way to fix this? i’m on the newest update ios 18.3.1 and it didn’t fix it before or after that.

How do I fix unresponsive FaceTime camera button on iPhone? Hello. I have an issue with my camera on face time. It is turned on but the button doesn’t work. If I want to switch it off and then back off I can’t do it. I don’t have the ability to touch the icon and I have checked all the settings.
