Can connect Lutron or Kasa to Apple TV, but not both?

I set up Kasa smart plugs and connected them to my Apple TV, which is connected via ethernet. Things worked fine. And I tested using the plugs when the Apple TV is connected via wifi 2.4 GHz. Also worked fine.

Then I connected a Lutron hub for smart switches, and the switches will respond only if the Apple TV is connected via wifi 5 GHz.

So, I can use my smart plugs and not the switches...or I can use the switches and not the lights...but not both at the same time. Any suggestions? I'm not a networking expert but know the issue must be related to ethernet vs. 2.4 vs. 5.
