Hide Alert for IMessage not working.

I am no longer able to hide alerts in IMessage. This isn’t solely for group chats but 1on1 threads as well. It’s extremely frustrating. I have the latest software update 18.3.1. And since the update I have run into this issue. Can anyone provide a solution?

How do I permanently silence group chats in iMessage? I cannot silence group chats anymore with one of these last updates, contacted support twice about it, nothing was resolved from it. No matter if I select “hide alerts” or swipe one the chats and hit the 🔕. Only thing I was told to remedy this is to set up something in focus which is just absolutely ridiculous [Re-Titled by Moderator]

iMessage closes chat every time I exit message app without clearing the app Every time I exit out it messages even without fully closing the app (swiping up to clear it from my recents) the app will exit out of the chat I had open it used to never do that and it’s driving me crazy is there any way to change that so that it stays open on the same chat if I go back to my messages?

This started happening on my 13 pro.. then my phone bricked. Got a new 16 pro and it wasn’t happening.. for about a week. Now hide alert again doesn’t work at all. It’s affecting group and individual messages like OP said. Latest OS update
